Antique Baluch rug by the Mahdad Khani tribe of the Ferdows region of Eastern Persia. 

Circa 1890. 

A good Baluch rug with one of the less common designs two rows of eight large Tekke Turkmen guls on a rich aubergine coloured ground. The large scale design between the guls is typical of these rugs. The border is a well drawn and features the Turkmen kochak design. A very good Turkmen inspired Baluch rug. The rug is in good condition with even wear medium pile very soft wool there is some wear / damage to the side bindings. (Reflected in the price). The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
