A good small size Turkish Kayseri silk rug with a pleasing floral prayer design.
About 50 years old.
The rug has an ivory coloured field filled with a vase and floral sprays, outside of the prayer niche the rug has a soft pistachio green with Cypress trees. The rug has a very soft and warm colour palette.
The rug is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile. The rug has been hand washed recently.
Silk pile on a silk foundation, of fine weave with a very soft handle.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
Please note: Silk rugs are difficult to photograph due to the light reflecting off the very shiny surface, light areas are not fading, they are just light reflections. The close up images show the truest colours.
