Antique reproduction of a 17th century Transylvanian prayer rug .

This rug is an excellent reproduction of the well-known and sought after 17th century Transylvanian prayer rug that is found displayed in the worlds great museums and private collections. It is thought that this reproduction was woven in Romania during the early part of the 20th century it has been suggested that it could be from the workshop of the master weaver Teodor Tuduc who had workshops in Brasov; and produced copies of some of the greatest 16th and 17th century rugs. The rug is in excellent condition with very slight even wear and good pile. The rug has soft wool and a floppy handle. The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
