Antique Tekke Turkmen main carpet with 4 rows of 14 guls. 

Circa 1900. 

The carpet has a warm brown/red ground colour which gives the carpet a rich and warm feel. The guls are well drawn and cochineal dye is used in the central quartered design. The border is a traditional Turkmen octagon design with many interesting elements. The carpet is in excellent condition with slight even wear with good pile. Both ends retain the original kilim end finishes. The carpet is suitable for normal domestic use. The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use.
