Antique South Caucasian Kazak with two elongated latch hook medallions. 

Circa 1890. 

A superb example of a South Caucasian Kazak rug. Two long latch hook medallion in a soft terracotta on a dark indigo blue ground. The medallions are surrounded by tribal elements. The rug has a well drawn ivory ground border with floral rosettes similar to those found on rugs from the Gendje region. The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium pile. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use. The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
