Antique North West Persian rug from the town of Malayer the rug has a beautiful medallion design on an ivory ground. 

Circa 1900/10. 

This Malayer rug belongs to a well known group of finely woven rug with elongated medallions on a plain ivory ground. The medallion is beautifully drawn with fine detail note how the corners of the rug are quarter medallions. The field is filled with butterfly like designs. The rug has a very soft and warm colour palette. A very good and decorative example of type. The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium / low pile there are a few scattered old re-weaves to the field. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use. The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
