Antique Baluch rug by the Mahdad Khani tribe of the Ferdows region of Eastern Persia. 

Circa 1900. 

A large rug with three vertical rows of nine large Turkmen guls on a rich aubergine coloured ground. The large scale secondary gul design between the guls is typical of these rugs. The border is a well drawn and is one of the less common Baluch borders. The rug is in good condition with slight even wear and good pile very soft wool note the original kilim end finishes. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
