Antique Caucasian prayer rug Karabagh region of scarce design. 

Late 19th century. 

A superb example of a Caucasian prayer rug with very unusual bold design. Large central medallion in soft madder red surrounded by an indigo blue field containing boteh and floral rosettes. The rug is framed with a very narrow border. The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium/low pile. The rug is suitable for light domestic use. The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. This rug is a superb display item and would make a great wall hanging.
