Antique North East Anatolian Sivas rug with classic Persian design. 

Circa 1900. 

This outstanding and scarce rug was woven in the Turkish town of Sivas around 1900. At this time the workshops of Sivas were producing rugs of strong Persian design influence and in this case the design is a classic floral medallion design. It is considered that the weavers were most likely to be Armenian. The rug is of very fine weave and has outstanding soft dye colours. The rug is in excellent condition with very slight even wear and full pile. The rug is of fine weave. The rug is suitable for light domestic use. The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
