Size: 10ft 6in x 6ft 4in (320 x 192cm).
Antique Afghan Firozkohi kilim woven in two strips.
Circa 1920.
This kilim is typical of those produced by the Firozkohi (mountain of Turquoise) nomads of north-western Afghanistan. The kilim is woven in 2 parts on narrow looms, and then stitched together; these kilims were used as floor coverings inside the tribal Yurt. The traditional design of a diamond lattice is embroidered onto a plain weave ground, the colour palette is very natural with earth tones.
Excellent condition, very slight wear. (it should be noted that the kilim is uneven, with one side longer than the other, and it does not lie flat on the floor, this will be corrected prior to delivery, included in the cost).
Stock Number: DS-1416.
