Antique Yomut Turkmen main carpet with the Kepse’ gul design. 

Circa 1870/80. 

The carpet has a rich mahogany brown ground colour with the large Kepse guls in diagonal line of differing colours. They include shades of indigo blue and a blue/green. The border is of the traditional curled leaf design. The long elem end panels are filled with classic Turkmen designs. The carpet is in excellent condition with even wear and good / medium pile the wool is very soft and the carpet has a floppy handle. The carpet is suitable for normal domestic use. The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use. A very good example of a Yomut Turkmen main carpet.
