Antique East Caucasian Avar kilim of very large size and classic design. 

Circa 1900. 

A good example of a traditional Avar kilim from Dagestan in the Eastern Caucasus. The soft red ground off sets the bold indigo blue medallions. The kilim is framed with a indigo blue border. The kilim is in excellent condition with very slight wear. This is a substantial kilim of heavy weight that will stand up to regular domestic use. The kilim has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. Stock
