Antique Timuri / Baluch blue ground prayer rug with tree of life design from Western Afghanistan. 

Circa 1880 or earlier. 

A good blue ground Timuri / Baluch prayer rug with tree of life design to the field. The hand placements also contain a tree design. The rug is in good condition with even wear and low pile. The rug retains it original kilim ends with a stripe design and weft work decoration. There are small areas of damage to both kilim ends. There is some dye corrosion to the brown / blacks. The rug is ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
