An antique Tekke Turkmen main carpet of large size with 5 rows of 17 guls. The carpet is of a very unusual size, being longer than most that are available. The carpet is of a deep rich red colour with soft pink red to the guls and border. The drawing of both the main guls and the secondary guls is excellent. The border is a traditional Turkmen octagon design with many interesting elements.

The carpet has complete long elems at both ends. The carpet is in good condition with even wear and good pile. Hand-washed and suitable for normal domestic use. This would make a superb furnishing carpet.
