A traditional hand woven Afghan soumak carpet with a traditional all over design. Soumak is a type of flat weave, not a tufted piled carpet. About 10 years old but in unused perfect condition.

The colours are very pleasing: A madder red ground, with gold and olive green floral vine and leaf design. The border is of a classic design in soft pastel shades.

The Carpet is in excellent condition with no wear at all. This is a good furnishing carpet with excellent colour. The carpet has been hand washed and is suitable for normal domestic use or display.
