Antique Tekke Turkmen chuval with Aina guls. 

Mid 19th century. 

An exceptional pair of chuval faces by the Tekke Turkmen. The faces have the aina gul design there are 36 guls to each face. Alternate guls have opposing quarters in crimson silk. The main border is a box design containing a star or sunburst motif. A rare feature of these chuval is the tall Turkmen tree running up the sides. The elem panel is covered in diagonal rows of small flowering shrubs. The chuval are of very fine weave with excellent wool and dye quality. Excellent condition with even wear and medium pile one chuval has slightly more wear than the other. Hand washed and ready for use or display.
