Antique Uzbek Lakai tribe ilgich dowry wall hanging for the yurt. 

Late 19th century. 

Ilgich are embroidered hangings that usually formed part of a brides dowry; they are talismanic and considered to be protective. This example is embroidered in silk on a yellow cotton ground. The condition is fair with some age / use related staining to the yellow cotton ground. The ilgich has been re-backed in Kabul circa 2010.
