Antique Turkish Ghiordes prayer rug of scarce design of an early date. 

18th Century. 

The rug is beautifully drawn with a indigo blue central field which is surrounded by carnation flowers. The field is framed by multiple borders. The rug is in poor condition with wear and medium / low pile. There are a few scattered old area of damage as one would expect with a rug of this age and some heavy wear. The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for very light domestic use but would make a superb wall hanging.
