Antique Turkish Dazkiri Village Rug, Circa 1900
Product tabs
Antique West Anatolian rug from the small village of Dazkiri which lies on the road from Denizli to Sparta. The rug is of a design unique to this village, with the small central medallion surrounded by flower heads. The borders are of a complex floral design. This rug is most unusual in having a soft green field colour, this contrasts well with the deep red. The rug retains its original stripped long kilim end finishes at both ends.
The rug is beautifully drawn with superb colours through out. Very soft wool and a very floppy handle. The rug is in excellent condition with slight wear and good pile. Hand washed and suitable for light domestic use.
