Antique Turkish Antep Rug of Scarce Design
Product tabs
An antique South Eastern Anatolian Antep rug. This is a outstanding example of this scarce design which has many similarities to that found in Caucasian Karachov Kazak rugs, with the four corner boxes containing stars. The rug has a soft brown ground that is corroded so that the design in other colours stands proud in a sculpted effect. The ivory ground border is of simple form often associated with earlier rugs.
The rug is offered in showroom condition having been professionally restored in Turkey. The sides and ends have been re-woven and there are areas of repair in the field. Hand washed and ready for use or display.
