Antique South West Persian Khamseh tribal rug of bird medallion design. 

Circa 1900. 

A good Khamseh tribal rug with linked medallions on a dark indigo blue ground. The rug is covered in tribal design elements including birds animals flowers and shrubs. The border design in one of the classic Khamseh designs. The rug has a wonderful colour palette with warm reds and light blues and ivory which give the rug a light feel. The rug is in excellent condition with slight wear and good pile the rug retains the original end finish at the top end. The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
