Antique Timuri or Baluch main carpet, with soft muted colours and long striped kilim ends.

Circa 1880.

A good main carpet with classic repeat 'tree of life' design, this is known as 'kalam donneh' or 'pencil box' design in Afghanistan. The border is of a repeat box design. The rug has excellent colour with earthy reds and browns along with indigo blue and aubergine. Good complete long kilim ends with striped design decorated with a band of weft work.

The rug is in good condition with even wear and medium pile, there is corrosion to the browns as one would expect.

The rug is suitable for light domestic use. A Timuri / Baluch main carpet of good age with soft colour.
