Antique Tekke Turkmen rug of fine weave and small square size. 

Circa 1900. 

These rugs are considered to be dowry’ weavings used by the Turkmen bride on her wedding day. This example has 3 rows of 5 Tekke guls the main border is of the sunburst design. The rug has a soft faded look with cochineal dye used through out. The rug has very fine soft floppy handle. The rug is in good condition with even wear and low pile. The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
