Antique Tekke Turkmen rug of traditional design and excellent colour, the rug is of exceptionally fine weave.

The rug has a traditional Tekke gul design with 4 rows of 12 guls. The drawing is very crisp with white cotton being used in the guls and in some of the border details. Cochineal dye is also used as a highlight throughout the rug. It is also interesting to see the change of design in the minor gul, the bottom two rows have the complete 'bow and arrow' at the sides of the guls, this is missing in the rest of the rug. The main border is of the traditional Turkmen 'sunburst' design.

The rug is of a very fine weave with excellent soft wool.

The rug is in good condition with even wear, heavier in places and medium to low pile. The rug retains the complete elem panels at each end.

The rug is suitable for light domestic use.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
