Antique tribal rug from the Shiraz region probably by settled weavers from the Khamseh tribe. 

Circa 1920. 

A good square shaped rug with linked medallion design framed by an ivory ground main border with a colourful chevron design outer border. The rug is covered in tribal design elements and flowers. The ground colour is an soft madder terracotta orange/red. The rug is in good condition with even wear and medium pile. Hand washed and ready for use. An excellent furnishing rug suitable for normal domestic use.
