Antique salt bag by the Tartar nomads of Uzbekistan / northern Afghanistan.

Salt bags by the Uzbek nomads are quite scarce they were used to store rock salt to be given to their animals during the migration. This example has the repeat diamond design to the face and a stripe design to the reverse. The salt bag is in excellent condition with some signs of tribal use. The bag face has been hand washed and is ready for display.
