Antique Baluch rug by the Mahdad Khani tribe of the Ferdows region of Eastern Persia. 

Circa 1890. 

A interesting Baluch rug with large Tekke Turkmen guls on a rich aubergine coloured ground note how the guls appear to disappear under the border at the sides and ends. The secondary gul is also drawn on a large scale. A very good Turkmen inspired Baluch rug. The rug is in fair condition with un-even wear heavy in places and medium / low pile pile; the condition is reflected in the price. The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
