Antique soumak kilim by the Quchan Kurds of Khorassan Province Eastern Persia. 

Circa 1900 

The soumak is woven in the traditional diamond design that is often found on Quchan Kurd grain sacks. The weave is fine and the ivory ground border frames the soumak very well. Both ends retain short flat woven kilims decorated with embroidered work. Excellent condition with very slight wear. Hand washed and ready for use. This soumak is suitable for normal domestic floor use or would also make a superb wall hanging.
