Antique Baluch rug from Khorasan province of Eastern Persia. A Baluch rug with a scarce design on a indigo blue field. 

Circa 1890. 

The rug has a totemic tree design with a broad trunk rising upwards with strong branches reaching out to the sides with flowers and stars. The main border is the classic Baluch meandering vine design. The rug is in good condition with even wear and medium pile there is some dye corrosion to the olive browns. The original end kilims exist in places and are a little ragged. The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
