Antique Kizil Ayak Ersari Turkmen 9 gul chuval with good soft red ground colour. The elem design is stylised shrubs or flowers. 

Circa 1900. The guls are well drawn and large in size the field has a spacious feel. Chuval are storage bags used by the nomads to transport goods the faces are piled so make very good small rugs. This example originates from the border region of Northern Afghanistan and Southern Turkmenistan. The chuval is in good condition with even wear and medium / low pile. Hand washed and ready for use or display.
