Antique Caucasian rug with Lesghi star design. 

Circa 1890. 

A good Caucasian rug with a single vertical row of three large Lesghi Stars superb colour and fine Shirvan like weave. The wide ivory ground border is of a multi coloured star design. The minor borders are in a chevron design which is normally associated with rugs from Dagestan in the North Eastern Caucasus. Excellent condition even wear with medium pile. Hand washed and ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
