Antique South Persian Afshar rug of all over large boteh design. 

Circa 1880. 

A rug of superb colour and design with very soft wool. The rug has diagonal rows of large floral boteh on a clear madder red ground the boteh are in soft pastel colours. There are smaller boteh and other tribal devices scattered through out the rug. The wide border is a striking feature of this rug the dark indigo ground is covered with a serrated leaf design with rosette flowers and birds. Excellent condition with even wear and medium pile. Very soft wool hand washed and ready for use.
