Antique Ersari Turkmen main carpet from Northern Afghanistan of useful small room size.

Circa 1900.

A good example of an Afghan Ersari Turkmen main carpet, the large octagonal guls are arranged in two rows of five. The carpet has a rich brown colour with the design in dark indigo blue. The carpet retains part of the original short kilim end finishes at both ends.

The carpet is in good condition with even wear and medium pile.

The carpet is suitable for normal domestic use such as a dining room or a living room.
